I'm getting ready to pull the engine out of my Maverick and I don't see where to pull it from ? I have pulled many 8's and I just use a bolt on the front of one head and the rear of the other or a carb plate. I don't think a carb plate would be used on a 6. Could anyone that has pulled a 6 tell me where they put their chain. I'am pulling just the engine as I would have to take them apart to put the engine on a stand anyway. Pic's would be great too if they are handy. Thanks Rick

Great pic, I see the bolt on that side and I think you used the bolt for the neg strap ( from thr battery ) on the other side. Am I right ?

There should be a plate with a large hole that is bolted on the front left side normally where the power steering bracket is and another one is located where the kick down lever linkage behind the carb. Hope this helps.

Sounds about right...or it could been the alternator bolt boss

I think those plate suppose to be removed after use at the factory. Some did and some didn’t.

I have found those brackets only on the later years....never on the early years.

when i pulled mine i took the valve cover off to prevent damage, then two head bolt at the ends of the head and out it came. no damage at all to head.
but dont let it hang that way for long!
