Has anyone here ever cut the Rad support to ease the removal of the engine ? I was thinking of a cut at each side and bolting it back later. What are your thoughts ?
there is no reason to. If you don't have a load leveler a chain with two screwdrivers can substitute. If you are worried about clearence just unbolt the transmission and converter and pull them seperate
Not needed in the Maverick but I did that when I put a V8 in my old Pinto. I cut out the top section of the radiator opening, had a bar with two bolts on either side that I could remove when needed.
I drilled out all the spot welds and removed mine for the fabrication and instalation of the new fender wells. There was a part of me that considered keeping it as a "bolt on", But I do plan on welding it back on as it should be.
