Sport Mirrors

    I just put on a set of sport mirrors and the pass side shifts with every little bump. Is there some way of tightening this mirror or does it need better guts. If the guts are needed does anyone have one they would part with ? Thanks Rick

    there's two screws that hold in on either side.

    maybe ones loose?

    The pass side has one screw that holds the ball and socket in place, removing this screw will let you take out the whole mirror. I just don't know if there is anyway to tighten the ball and socket ? Also can you buy new glass for these mirrors ?

    Yes new glass is available at most parts store's, its a bit pricey thought!

    You can take the mirror to a glass shop and they can make and install one for you, as far as the ball and socket go I have not figured out a good way to tighten them yet, you might try a bunch of rtv around it

    ive tryed the rtv. it doesnt work. i havent found a fix and would love to know of one.

    Well maybe we are going to have to send our worn out mirrors to Doc Mashori for a socket replacement :)

    I've injected LocTite with a needle, it helped, but once it's moved you have to do it again.

    Just a thought... What about using a Peace of shrink wrap over the ball, then heat shrink it in place.. Kinda like a bushing ?

    Hmmm...you guys must be freezing your mirrors to death up there. I have never ever had a right side mirror to be loose like that. And I've had a bunch!

    Well I have no idea where this mirrors came from, they were on a car I parted out from Ind. You wouldn't happen to have a banged up mirror that the guts are good would you ? Anybody ?

    My driver side vibrates at times. I think it has more to do with the car vibrating than the mirror.
