Still too stupid cold and snowy here in the north to get the Maverick out - so me and the boys decided to get in one last day of ice fishing. The perch have been awesome this year!

Thanks for the laugh ... good picture.

Some of the most fun I have ever had fishing was on Lake Erie.... it was November and we were after perch. It was cold and they were so hungry, they were biting on empty hooks. We were using triple rigs and caught about 150 in less than a half hour .... frequently two at a time. Never saw anything like this. It was cold enough that we didn't want to stay out any longer either.

However, ours were a bit smaller than the ones in the picture .... we called them "popcorn perch". Each filet was bite-size or a little bigger. We had an assembly line going for more than an hour .... one would filet, another batter, one guy fried ... 8 of us ate really well that night.
