Thank you it's called bright shiny penny. I've been talking to a friend of mine about bringing the bumpers in tight to the body but I found a post a guy is selling the 73 bumpers with the lower valence I think I'm gonna a buy that.
VERY nice improvements! I also like the color!! I see you are from VA, what part? I'm from Lynchburg.
It looks really good. The wheels/tires/stance all work together. The tire size and bumpers make it look beefy and tough. The lighting there makes it look red. Going by the name "Bright Shiny Penny", I am betting there is a lot of copper in it. A great photography trick to getting color to really pop, is to take a picture of the car on a bright day close to sunrise or sunset. It is how many car feature shots are done for magazines. Mid-day, colors tend to wash out a bit. If you elect to do a bumper tuck, take a look at a few of them here on the board. Personally, I like them done, but subtle. Maybe end up with the back corner of the bumper halfway back to that front marker light. It still leaves the bumper out a bit, and the bumper, hood lip and grille end up in 3 contrasting planes that mimic each other that looks quite good in my opinion.
Yeah the lights in that shop were making it look really dark. I have to flare my fenders and put new leaf springs the tires touch around turns. I'm talking to a friend of mine about tucking the big bumpers but I had a guy offer me 73 bumpers and the lower valence for $200
I was just down that way the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I ran my '72 Grabber at Richmond Dragway. I will be hosting an MCCI Maverick and Comet Mini Meet again in 2016. It would be great if you could bring your car. I will be setting a date after the first of the year.
Awesome how's the new track, everyone is saying it's hooking good for a new track. Yeah I've been wanted to goto a MCCI mini meet I was gonna go last year to one but I went out of town. Have you heard of Cars & Coffee it's every other Saturday in Richmond at Regency Mall I go when I can you see everything from Hondas to Lamborghinis.
The Saturday I went was just the second time that had been opened since redoing the track. Most everyone looked like they were hooking pretty good. My car ran a 13.15 @ 108 MPH. I have had mini meets the past two years in the fall in Chatham, VA in conjunction with their monthly cruise-in. Most likely will stay with that location, but not 100% sure. I have heard of Cars & Coffee, I know they have one in Raleigh, NC and it draws alot of exotic cars. I didn't know they had one in Richmond. My brother-in-law lives in the Short Pump area of Richmond. We will be at his house on Christmas Day.
I went the other week my car look stock untill you see the tail pipes I started mine up and everyone gathered around. I had a $175k Porsche park next to me
Car looks great! I think I saw it on FB the other day??? It reminds me so much of one of the very first Mavericks I ever saw in my neighbourhood back in the early 90's--big bumpers and Weld Pro Stars, to boot!! Great job! **footnote** The car below always ran Pro Stars, but for some reason, the fall that I took the pictures, he had swapped out the fronts with slotted wheels. circa 1995 circa 2014
