is 6' x 12' trailer sufficient?

Seeing the picture - 100% certain in my mind that the car will not even get up into it. The front of the car will hit the front of the trailer before the rear wheels will be on the deck. At least that is the way it looks. That trailer holds a skid steer, but not a car.

    Thanks fellas.

Been looking for six months or so, not a lot of rust free $500 Mavericks an hour from home.

I'm a civil engineer, plotted it out today. Tight, but it would fit.

Thanks for the insight all. I'm still not certain what I'll decide, though if I do chase it, I will likely opt for the UHaul trailer.

Chris hopefully you dont think we are a bunch of nay sayers we are just giving honest opinions as a lot of us have been there and done that or tried to do that, we wish you luck on your quest. Trying to get a Maverick on a budget is getting a lot harder these days due to their popularity and trying to find one in a certain region only complicates things further. People have taken on far worse cars than the one you are looking at

If you do opt to get the car and use the trailer you have lined up you might want to put it on with the rear of car towards front of trailer.

Don't buy that rot box...Spend a bit more up front and you will spend less in the long run...Gotta look at the long game, not the here and now when buying a project car. Definitely rent a proper trailer...

    Thanks Mike,

I do appreciate the helpful advice. I'm just not ready to spend $3,000 or more for a project car. And, I'm not ready to tell my son to give up on a Maverick, as that is what he wants. The whole point of a project is to spend time with my son and do the work. As previously shared, I'm not aiming for a trailer queen, but a daily driver.

    Thanks again,

    Chris

I hope you can get a safe trailer if you go for it.....and If you get to take your son with you, a journey like that will be a cherished memory even if the car is rusty.

    Thanks Stumanchu,

It will be a blessing, whenever it happens. I see you and Mike are both from Oregon. My wife and I are a ways from psuedo retirement, but looking around. She hates the heat/humidity so in my searches I came across Klamath Falls, OR. At 4,000 feet it never gets too hot and boasts 300 days of sunshine. God may bring us west one day.

LOL.....I live in Portland, and although it is mild, 300 days of sunshine might bring me down there too!!!

$500 is what I pay for parts cars. PARTS cars.

The money you save now will costs you triple down the road, and I am under estimating that.

    Mr. Selvey,

I apologize for not utilizing the "sarcasm" emoji, don't see one I like. :meh:

I certainly don't expect to find a rust free $500 Maverick and hour from home, but based on some responses, you would think they are plentiful.

If you do decide to use that trailer - load the car backwards. That will get it up there with more of the longer front end overhanging out the back. Also give you better tongue weight without an engine in the car. You will need to crawl out the window too as the door will be blocked by the side railing.

Good luck on whatever you decide to do ........... :)

    Thanks Eric,

If I did try to use the little trailer, I would just winch it on, but more than likely I would rent an auto hauler.
