Turbo Charger in 72 Ford Maverick Grabber

My car's engine, V8 302 Automatic, doesn't have much room. Would it be possible to put in a turbocharger and if not is there anyway to make room?

I did my car with factory shock towers. Been turbo for over a year now. Runs awesome. I ended up grenading a shortblock due to rev limiter being set too high for factory rod bolts.

 

What could I do to make it work with a turbo?

 

Low boost and go easy on it. That or rebuild it with good parts built with boost in mind..

 

I've never rebuilt a motor, what would I need to do it?

 

I am no expert on boosted applications but I can tell you forged pistons, good aftermarket rods and ARP main bolts/studs will be a good start. I also understand the rings need to be gapped correctly to keep from breaking the pistons.

 

To change all of that could I just look up tutorials for how to do that?

 

Sounds to me like you should buy a ready built, boost friendly short block then add the remaining components...

 

What would the remaining components be?
