Hey guys long time sense I've been on.
Well unfortunately my vehicle sat for 18yrs in a garage due to a health issue, but in the last two years I've been restoring all condition issues one being the fuel tank/fuel system. The fuel system was completely overhauled. A new Holley 600 cfm carb, Holley fuel regulator, Holley fuel pump (9 psi max) return line to fuel tank via a reworked vapor port, and a filtered vent line. Also a new sending unit with a new rubber fill line gasket.

The fuel tank looked alright inside for sitting for 18 yrs. so I decided just to do the solvent and bolt method and it worked, the tank looked clean. Well two years down the line and the fuel in the filter is brown. I've decided to replace the last component, the fuel tank, no more cleaning..

I found a fuel tank on Ebay >Fuel Tank (FK-EG071) by ACP®. 15 Gal. build material unknown and seller doesn't answer emails > 347.59
    Amazon > Replacement 15 Gal, Stainless Steel > 441.40

What do you guys think or do you know of other sellers?

I got a fuel tank for my 72 Maverick( which should be the same for 71) from Auto Krafters about 4 years ago. Fit and function has been good.

That bolt rolling around inside the tank scratches the zinc coating and exposes bare steel which will rust if you don't recoat the inside.
