Thanx.. i think When the Guy Glued Parts on he did it upside down.. owell ill post pics when i get a new steering Wheel in.
thats funny, I actually turn the wheel to make it right side up. When my wheels are straight, the emblem is upside down
Sport wheels are the only factory steering wheels I like. And I think they are the best looking wheels for these cars, period.
Showing some some Sport Wheel love... Behold: the best steering wheel to ever come factory on a Ford: Dennis' (Mavaholic) most awesome Sprint: My daily driver '72 with my $11 junkyard sportwheel: My dad's old Comet: Wheel I spotted while junkyardin' with Terry (Hawkco). He scored it for like $20 bucks if I remember: My advice? Don't buy one off the intarweb unless you absolutely can not find one elsewhere. Crappy ones usually go for at least $80 on the internet. You can get one for less then $20 at a junkyard usually.
THis is an old thread but how do you take off the steering wheel, i got it all of it off up to the bolt, now i cant get the wheel off?
If ones know what they are doing....and it is done correctly....no harm. Still.....I wouldn't recommend it either. Only when junkyard shopping will I use the hammer.
I always have managed to pull steering wheels by hand. Loosen the nut, but don't take it off then pull and sway the wheel with both hands (on opposite sides) left right, up down. Continue to work on the wheel (like crazy) for a few minutes and it will come loose.
Sounds like alot of work (and the possibility of bending the wheel out of shape) when you can go buy a $19 puller and have it off in like 2 minutes. And I've pulled a few sport wheels in junkyards that someone in the past had over torqued the nut like crazy and there was no way in hell you were going to work it loose by hand.
Yeah, I don't worry about it on junkyard cars. Even so, I paid $15.00 for my steering wheel puller, which is what I recommend for people removing the steering wheel from their own personal car...
