'You sure about that? You might want to re-think that statement. I just love it when someone asks a simple question and someone wants to build them a car that corners like a GT40, or just plain enjoys spending other peoples money...
yeah it had to be fun renting a car and beating those hard working people that bought, built, did all the up keep and raced the ones they owned.
I hate to agree with you(really I do) but I do. Did I mention I hate to agree with you? Your still a rent a racer douche bag though I know what I know through watching and attending many dyno sessions at the late but great "Red" Davis of Cincinnati OH. He built everything from rail cars to stock. I helped out at the shop as often as I could. I soak up every piece of knowledge that is "sound" I laugh at some of the stuff on this board but for the most part lets disect this situation. This guy is new to the game. I doubt he has anything that is gonna run faster than 14 secs or he would already know what is up. Simple. Even the most xped can't get it perfect the first time. Close yes, but not prefect. Hence the reason the dyno and test and tune was invented but for the rest of the world that wants a cruiser from some of the xped members here they should get him on the right track!!! Also why dog the new guy that is not how maverick.to works!!!!Newbies get a chance like the rest of us losers
It was. About as much fun as it is right now having bought a new Mustang and one week later, with no runs on the car at all, beating those same people again with my own car. You can rag on me all you want about that deal. Doesn't make a bit of difference. I'll beat them with a rental car.....I'll beat them with my car.....I'll beat them with anybody's car.
Only because you can't do it, junior. Ten races, ten different cars, five wins, two runner ups, and a championship points margin of 80 points (8 rounds). It ain't braggin' if you can do it. I didn't read about it in Hot Rod either.
Only because I've never built (or rented) a race car. 'Never had any desire to. I'm not as "dumb" as you think....
I agree here with Dave 110%. But I will add that the older 80457's have adjustable floats. This is esssentially the same carb as a list 1850 Holley but has the Ford kickdown linkage. This one can also be upgraded with dual feed bowls (I for one think they're sexier than the single feeds ) And you can try playing with the secondary spring to make them open sooner. I used a "purple" spring in the one I had tuned for the 5.0 in my Ranger. The secondaries would come in about a second or so after you planted your foot in it.
