I was wondering how much a 1972 mercury comet was worth. It is all original 28,000 miles, 302 v-8, 3 spd. auto, except has new tires. It has been sitting in a garage for many years. The paint is good, the interior is perfect. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Only Mavericks are worth something.

    Comets are priceless.

price is always in the eyes of the beholder..... but here's a few things that would up the value: minimum rust/body work, bucket seats, floor shift, deluxe interior, a/c, p/s, etc. but comets do yield more than mavericks, i think due to there being fewer comets than mavericks.

just by what you've typed, and if it's as good as what you say, i would say around 3500-5000 would be a good price to me. but like i said, it's all in the eyes of the beholder. good luck and keep us posted (y)

    p.s. we love pics :D:D:D

the number of doors has alot to do with it too. ALOT!

i'd even go as far as to say if you lined up a 2 door and a 4door that have the same exact options and are in the same condition i'd probably be willing to pay 2-3x the amount on the 2 door that i would the 4 door. some people will disagree with me but i think there are even more who feel the same way

$3-5000 would be 2 door money IMO

i agree... i looked over the possibility of a 4dr. i just always assume everyone looks for the 2dr's unless they find an extremely nice 4dr

since im not really a 4 door guy i really wouldnt want an all original mint one

it have to be a resto-mod or some kind sleeper for me to buy it. even then, it would have to be a great deal over a 2 door for me to not just save my money and keep shopping

It's not worth anything. I'll come get it out of your way. (if it's a 2 door)

It is a 2 door. Don't have any pics though. It has a/c but no power steering or brakes. I will talk to the guy that has it and see if he will let me take some pics. It is located in north texas.
