:Handshake could be the ...front light...out...sometimes if one is out the other one will not work... ...Frank...
thanks frank yea lol well im only 18 this is my first classic and i could use all the help i can get but do 72 mavericks even have front blinkers all i see are just the headlights and little yellow reflectors on the bottom sides of the front quater panels
Problem could be in the turn signal switch its self, most likely problem is a short in the wireing or bad ground at the suspect socket(common problem with these cars) The tail/turn singnals ground through the tail light housing.Make sure you have a good clean contact between the sockets and tail light housings as well as the housings to the body. Those reflectors are the front turn signal/running lights. If they dont light up you need to start there.Like Frank said If front lights are out others wont work.Good luck.Pete.
Are you talking about the front side markers (reflectors)or the ones under the front bumper on the front of the car??? the ones on the front are the turn signal lamps,on the side are just parking/running lights.
make sure where the bulb goes in is clean sometimes it gets corroded up.but frank knows what hi is saying try that to.
thanks guy! well its a 12:30 in the a.m. here a lil to dark to be outside working on the lights but ill let you guys know how it turns out but i have one more question which is there a wire running off the lights to a ground screw in the trunk because i found one in my trunk when i first bought it so that could be the problem?
You said you changed the relay. There are two relays that look the same, one is for the emer flashers. Turn your left signal on and put your hand on the relay you just changed. If you can feel it clicking then you need to follow some of these other suggestions. If the new relay does not click, I'm betting you changed the wrong one. You'll need to follow the clicking noise and locate and change the other relay. A weak relay will cause it to do just what you are describing. Keep us posted. :Handshake
