I thought the car I got from my neighbor was a 70, but it is a 69.5 Should I restore it stock? It is not in great shape but very restorable. It's just a 200 6cyl auto with no options. I would assume it would be more valuable all stock with matching #'s. Any input for me??
these cars don't really hold too much extra value when it comes to #s matching and things like that. usually the prices are dictated by the sum of the parts.
Build it how you want.. There is nothing really super special about 69.5's, unless you have like a really low VIN or something. But even that wouldn't stop me from modifying the car.
Thanks for the replies. For the most part it will be left stock. I want something halfway good on gas. If I were to modify, it would be a modern drivetrain retrofit. If I hit the lottery I may do that.
Depends on what you want out of it. Daily driver, Sunday car, drag car, show car or maybe some combination of these. The car is not any more valuable stock than it would be modified. Like others said, the sum of the parts would dictate its value.
Does your car have any other optional 69 parts like roof mounted rear-view mirror, rim-blow steering wheel?
Rear view is mounted on the windshield. Not sure what you mean by the steering wheel. The horn button has a "half ring" that goes down by the bottom of the wheel. The car is very basic with no options at all. No power brakes or steering. Very simple, but it's all mine :bananaman
