Look under the car or under the bench seat. If it had buckets, the holes will be there. The floor shift was only available from the factory if ordered with bucket seats. Jim
Figured i would post an update.. I still haven't called ford (Haven't had time outside of work/sleep.. My scheduled free time doesnt fall during business hours. haha.) I will attempt to call them today, while at work. And the people from the Marti report called me today, they said theirs some kind of problem and if i don't get back to them within 7 days, they will cancel my order... Don't know what thats about, But i will be calling them too, i guess. haha
It's not really that odd when you consider the fact that AMC [who owned JEEP at that time] bought a lot of parts from Ford, GM and Chrysler, and used them on their vehicles. I figure that getting permission to use one of their paint colors was easy because they didn't want to whizz off their parts sources. Nowadays, it's each car maker doing their own thing, and wouldn't dream of copying each other [yeah, right, lol].
From all the pictures I've seen so far eveything is pointing toward your Maverick being a special ordered car. Back in the early 1970's, Chrysler had a purple paint called Plum Crazy. The color of your car sure looks a lot like it.
Alright i finally got into contact with the people who called me... Turns out ford never called (it was Marti report that did, But the person taking down the message didn't specify a name other then "john" so i assumed it was ford for some reason.). Marti report needs a paint chip before my order can be fulfilled (which was figured). So, here's my question... How do i get a chip of paint off the car without causing damage? (i've never had to try and take and preserve paint OFF the car. haha)
Use a new razor blade, you should be able to slowly get it down to the metal and under the paint, somewhere in the trunk, where it has no over spray.
what makes you think the person just didn't paint the whole car as a shell? ive seen more then a few old beat up cars like that... one point is that hood scoop is also painted purple is it not? then again hard to tell from just photos.
Well .. the special order DSO makes it more likely to be a custom color since the entire shell is purple .. it makes the theory more reasonable.
...The car isnt even painted purple anymore...hes finding evidence in all the right areas....sure looks original purple from the pictures to me....behind door panels ect..
No, The hood scoop is black (unpainted plastic i think). Davi Boyer, Thanks! I will try to see if i can get a chip off of it tonight, so i can send it to them soon.
I took 3 new pictures, Figured i would share them here: Got its Carb today, so i hope to make progress towards it starting up. Thanks!
