2 months of calling and 3 weeks of waiting... finally got 'er home today :yahoo:

Just what I was looking for... a 72 Comet with a vee-YAY!-t... and power steering (me plans include a 4 speed eventually). Love this... it's got a rear defroster - nice feature for all the rain we get here.

So far it has 12 barrels.... heh... amongst the pile of parts and junk inside I have found 3 carbs so far... a Motorcraft, a Holley double pumper, and this huge polished thing called a "Demon" with a fuel pressure guage.

Brown/white 2 tone... has full body trim I've never seen before, and a whole colony of mice basically ate the interior which I'll eventually replace with black.

I'll post some pics after I buy a respirator tomorrow and clean out all the mice poop.

Odd thing - it has one sport mirror on the drivers side and none on the passenger. Ah... the list of parts I want/need is already over a page long...

Wow... it's a Speed Demon 650... not bad for a freebie, HEAVY and SOLID... I think this one will be going on the car eventually... make my day and tell me the carb is really worth about $500!

The MICE were actually the previous owners

Here's a few pics in the back of the owners shop and my "free ride" home... he would only accept gas money for the trip... and that was $160.00

I think I owe him a favour - 6 hours of driving all together (damn traffic).

Here's my babies home at last... I think the red one was almost as dirty when I got it.

Here a carb... there a carb... everywhere a carbcarbcarb

Ok... the one hiding behind the set of (new in a box) drums is the orig. 2 barrel... the others hiding inside are a Holley and the Demon. I like the Demon because I like things a little bit different. Can you polish zinc?

Hood is busted and dented... methinks they didn't realize the 4 barrels and that intake sits way too high and tried to close it. Next paycheque I'm ordering one of the Eliminator hood scoops.

It looks pretty sad in the last pic... but it will see better days.

Before & after... day and night (literally)...

Nothing as satisfying as the first wash on a sunny day... even managed to kill a bottle of MaGuires polish even though I'm gonna paint the car (next year).

Obviously late morning became late evening before I finished... but the paint is badly damaged. Two tone hardtop with full trim which is mounted on studs so it will stay. I'm thinking of blacking out the front & rear and black gloss roof, and bright green (Grabber green) body to accent the black and chrome.
Got a spare grill with it too... both have a complete grid so one will go on the red car since it has a gaping hole in it.

I love recycling car parts!... :dancing:
