some of you guys seem to always have good pics to post in responces. do you have them all saved on your computer or do you run out, snap a pic and then post it?
I save them and name the files with a reference of the keywords, so I can search them in the gallery and link them in replies, instead of uploading the pictures.
I save all sorts of pics from the internet that I think might be of value one day. Especially detailed pics of structures, body mods, header/exhaust design and routing... among others. If I find a post where someone may be able to benefit from these pics, I first check and see if they are already hosted somewhere, and then I just put the link in 'img' brackets to post it. If not, I check if I have it stored here in my attachments, so I can do the same. If it's not anywhere to be found, I attach it. So, yes, I keep track of 'important' pics so they are easy to post should I need to describe something or help someone. Dave
I took over 1,000 photos of my restoration so far and keep them in a folder on my desktop. That's because I can't remember anything anymore.
I keep many on my website, and MANY more on my computer. Doing the same thing right now with painting and installing my new boat motor. It always helps to be able to get on the computer and find out where that last wire or hose goes.
I have three seprate folders in documents ie pictures ,then i just go to the dated folder and open it to retrieve my pics
A lot of times when I'm trying to explain something or ask a question - I do just run out to the shop and take a picture .....
I have about 20 folders and each one has about 50-400 pictures but its not organized and sometimes it takes me 30 minutes to find a picture someone needs.
If someone asks a specific question and I have dealt with that issue, I will run out and take a pic, but most of the time that is for PMs only. Sometimes on open threads...
