    Good work.

Tell ya what though, new custom molded carpet is what, $120? Would really make that interior pop, and be easy to do while the seats are out.

    Goodluck gettin the seats in.

    thanks guys!:)

i thought about new carpet but being that its gonna be my daily when i turn sixteen on the 25th, it would just end up dirty... plus i didn't even have enough money to buy the seats. my parents told me that the seats would have to be my b-day present lol. :yup: but eventually i will.

A 5 gallon bucket of water, handful of laundry powder and a scrub brush with the carpet laying in the driveway or across a fence post, a little bit of elbow grease and water hose and a lot of sunshine. But I think it might be a little too chilly in Washington this time of the year

A while (6 months?) ago there was someone here who talked about their factory PURPLE Maverick - doing the proper research (Marti report, etc.) it was determined authentic.

I hope they chime in here - this may be another one of those "oddball" finds.

Don't let the seat bolts RUST OUT...

Ah... can of WD-40 and tools all over the ground in the back yard workin on the car... I remember when I was 16 too!

Hey... that *is* the same freezing fog we had... supposed to finally warm up tomorrow! Is that also the sunshine supposed to be coming my way too?

I don't know if you found the other thread on mounting seats.... but can I lecture you for a sec? I promise it won't be too long...

I mounted buckets in my first Buick GS when I was 16. After a few years the floorboards rusted across the body seam where the rear bolts were fastened and the front bolts just rusted through the floor. After an unfortunate encounter with a highway barrier, the passenger seat - with my best friend in it - ripped completely out of the floor. If it wasn't for the seatbelt he would have gone out the side window. We were crossing a bridge at the time.

So... if you're drilling new holes to mount seats, make sure you prime and putty the holes so they don't rust, use a good grade of bolt, corrosion resistant, and make sure there is reinforcing (thicker metal or very large washers) where you're bolting them. Check em after a few months (esp. in the soggy northwest) to make sure they're still clean & tight.

Someone else probably knows more than me since I haven't even looked at the floor where the bolts are... and I don't know what or where you are drilling. Both my cars are bench so I hope to be doing the same swap this spring.

Just wanna make sure you're doing it safely... :Handshake

    WHisky

and good score on the buckets!

Good advice to caulk the new hardware. (y)

    Matt,
You look like you are having fun ... despite the cold.

Regarding the purple you are seeing inside ... my guess is blue overspray over red primer = purple. They weren't super-tidy about painting inside mine except where it was going to show.

thanks for the advice and the comments guys. we have some pretty big washers for it and were the new holes are, the metal doesn't show any signs of rust. but i'll shoot down a little primer :)
