Hello all, Hope this doesn't start things off on a bad note, but I'm a Mopar guy . However, I am fascinated by straight sixes (slant six in my '64 D100) and want to build a Ford 300 and have to have a car to put it in. I'm joining this forum because I know nothing about Mavericks, but at first glance, they look like a neat car, and a good candidate for a Ford 300 drag car. I'm no Ford hater, so don't bash me too much for being a Mopar guy! I don't have a Maverick yet, nor do I have the money right now to get one (college is taking care of that), but I'm a big fan of lots of research and learning before jumping headfirst into a big project. If you guys are anywhere as nice and helpful as the the guys on the two Mopar forums I am member of, I will love it here and get lots of good info and help. Many many questions to come in the future, Stephan Nelle
Welcome to the board. We're just car guys here. We like all types. But you can't blame us for giving someone a bit of heck every now and then. There's some posts somewhere on a Maverick drag car with a 300 in it. Also some with a 250 in. 6 with it's wheels in the air. They can be fun. Especially when you see the looks on someones face when you tell them it's a 6.
A 300 in a Maverick would be awesome. The people on this board are great. You can learn more then you ever want to know about a Maverick on here.
Welcome, and you will definately LOVE it here, great group of people with LOADS of information and helping hands!!!! If I remember correctly, It was said that the 300 is too tall to fit, but where there is a will, there is a way...someone will chime in with more detailed info.
Welcome aboard! Yeah, I like Mopars too but have only owned one...my first car. Was a 64 Dart and a lot of fun. Loved that push-button automatic. But then I got into Mustangs and mavericks and never looked back. Heck, we even have a guy on this board with a Mopar engine in a maverick. That is gonna be one wild ride...Viper motor in a Mav! Anyway, get you a Maverick soon. We'll help in any way we can!
from Northeast Pennsylvania Looking at those 300 photos, I remember having one in a 70 something Ford Van and it was great sitting in the driver's seat changing the plugs.
