How do you know? If it was a nice car, I don't have a problem spending the money on it.
The main problem with these cars, is the preconceived idea that they are cheap, so you should be able to buy one cheap. No car no matter what it is, if it's had work done to it, it's worth more than it was without. If the work was done correctly, why wouldn't it be worth more? Mavericks/Comet sell for good money everyday, we don't see every car sold. With negative attitude, you get negative results.
I could sell my green car tomorrow, and get over 25000 for it, I've already turned it down (check in hand)
Restored, these cars are twice the work of a Mustang or Camaro, we just can't buy everything from a catalog, we have to use either NOS or recondition used parts, which costs more in the end.

As for the Mustang floor pans, how many people have actually used them? I'd like to see some pictures.

Your right, they are worth more if worked on. That I will agree with

But it's hard to get your money back on most any "cheap" car. That was my point.

Its not a Vette, older mustang, 57 chevy, etc

I wasn't trying to have a negative attitude, just saying don't expect to make a fortune or even make your money back on your basic build car

I've wondered if the 71-73 pans would be better, since they don't have that drain hole??

Good question Dave...65/66 worked for me.I figured the later pans would be even wider and a bit more work to trim/fit.
As for the jig holes...If the cowls leak...the water can just run out the holes right?:biglaugh:

I agree with this.....I think pretty much anybody can get back the money they spent on parts when they sell a car if its done right. Its the TIME that you cannot get your money back on. With what I have seen these cars go for lately, I could sell mine for what I have in "parts". But the TIME that I have in it (added into the cost) would make the car priced way higher than what it is worth.

not sure if that makes sense, but I understand what I am saying :p

Getting money for the car is not hard...Getting money for the time you put in is,next to impossible.Gotta write that off.Why is it the ones that are easy to restore get big bucks ,and the ones you have to hunt search and scrape for to build em are sinfully under priced/under appreciated???

It's like the Lemmings, one jumps they all jump.(well, not really) but people see nice cars, and want instant results. How many nice Mustangs and Camaros never see the light of day, because their owners bought them on a whim. The only Maverick owners that bought their Maverick on a whim, were either high/drunk as hell, or were amazed that it was that cheap, and they didn't care what it was.
    Time is never replaced.....
