6 to an 8 Tranny?????

    Will a tranny fit from my 250 6 cylinder to a 302 that i want to put in my comet?Can anyone help out?????????:huh:

    Yup! 250's have the same bellhousing as a 302. i know thats true on the old ones for sure but it might not work for the newer 302's

    Thanks ,because have an 83 302 ,but the tranny is gone and the motor is a rebuild.

    The engine came out of an 83 thunderbird,with an automatic with over drive.

    i couldnt say for sure that it'll fit the 83 block. i dont want ya to take my word for it and have it end up not fitting. i put my 250 tranny behind my 72 302 no problem

    if it's a 250 C4 it will fit any 302/5.0. just make sure to run the correct flexplate for the motor...:yup:

    the C4 i have behind my...'93 5.0 347 roller motor came from a 250 6 cyl.
    it has a 28 oz. 164 tooth flexplate...

    A '93 with a 28 oz.? I thought they were all 50 oz 81 and up?

    I think the 250 six uses a zero balance flexplate. The 28 oz 164 tooth came from pickups normally.
