So i would like the opinion of members here ,if you own a 69.5 Maverick which is different in many ways ie horn ,ignition,front valance,turning signals ,tail lights (reverse lense),i believe even the front suspension ie lower ball joints are different(i may be wrong on this) .Would you be correct in telling people its a 69 or would you tell them its a 70 cause the reg says its a 70.I personally thinks its ok to say its a 69 cause the colum ignition is a 70 thing in all of the domestic cars.
i would use 69 and a half then the parts store guys will probably tell you that they never made one. Lol so you would have to say 70 when ordering parts.
69 1/2, Ford made quite a few mid year cars and that just adds to the uniqueness of the car, you will have some explaining to do but hey I dont know a Mavericker that doesnt like to talk about their ride.
i tell everyone but the parts guy that i have a 69.some websites offer a 69 option when looking up parts
as the mustang debate on the 64 1/2 is still going strong, i'd use the same terms in this case and call it a 69 1/2!
I skip the year when discussing my Mavericks. Unless you are talking about it here, most don't know the difference from any model or year. You could go with "it's a 79.5" and most would smile and talk about how they think their Aunt had one before.
Yup, talking with Maverick folk, I refer to mine as a 69 1/2 With Maverick-unfamiliar "civilians", it's a 70, but sometimes I'll point out it's actually a "special" 69 1/2
I'm with the others...69 1/2 is something to brag about. After all they are unique. But it is in fact really a 70 before some production run changes.
