Need some help/advice. 70 Mav grabber. Its in TN. My brother went and looked at it. He said looks solid, no "visible" surface rust or bubbles. Said it didnt look like any bondo either. The guy claims there is only bondo in one of the doors. The hood seems to be cracking near the front where it meets the grill. There is a tear in the front bench seat. One seam is coming apart on the headliner. Gas tank has been replaced. The dash has some cracks on it. My brother said the only rust he found was on the inside of the back wheel wells. A 50cent size whole on the inside but not coming thru. The bottom of the windshield is starting to get milky from the constant heat. There is about 56K miles on it, but the spedo isnt hooked up. The guy wants 4800$ and seems to be firm. It will cost me about 450$ to ship. Im in ohio, so cars dont seem to last.

Well.....the car has obviously been repainted, and reupholstered sometime in it's life, so keep that in consideration.

When I hear things like "looks solid".....or "doesn't look like it has any bondo".....I would be concerned. Does your brother KNOW what he is looking for? Thic car, at $4500, could be a nice buy....or it could be a basket case. Just be careful is my advice.

70 grabbers didnt have the scooped hood either. If thereis a "rust hole" There is going to be rust behind that hole. Car has obviously been gone over at least once.If its super solid it may be worth the money...Good luck!!!

Be sure to check under the front lip of the hood for rust. Also check the underside of the rear quarters and torque boxes. Milky windshield is normal. I'd need to see more pics but I'm already wondering about the painted frt bumper.

If your brother can go look at it again, tell him to take a magnet.

Magnets don't stick to bondo :bouncy:

2 things a seller tells me right off I never believe. It has no bondo, and the engine was recently rebuilt. Good luck, I like the car.

I think its in knoxville tn i have seen it on craigslist. And one thing i have learned. EVERY car will have body filler, the thing that matters is how much and if it was done right. You will never find a show car that doesnt have filler, end of story.

Yes it is (was) in RockWood TN. My brother is going up to pay for it and get the title. It will be shipped out this week to Ohio. I KNOW it has bondo. I just hope it doesnt have bondo over rust.
