The Pertronix one fits inside the distributor. :)
Sounds like you already have the Ford Duraspark? or something aftermarket?

My car is a 74 and I mounted mine, durasparkII,just in front of the windshield washer tank. It stays cool there, doesn`t get really wet,and has been on the car 5yrs now. It looks like a factory install too!:)

Here's a pic of where I installed mine. I used one pre-existing hole and drilled the others.

Mounted mine on the left front inner fender. It survived one front end collision, got swapped to another body, and I ended up running it about 30,000 total miles set up that way with no problem.

I've got my MSD 6AL box in the same spot now. It's been there for around 73,000 miles now and still works fine. Still using the same Duraspark II distributor, and swapped the TFI Ford coil out for a Blaster II TFI coil back when I put the 6AL box in.

i can see how that is no problem for you since you have I6, no exhaust manifold close to it. think that would work out w/v8?

Mine is directly below the washer bottle. Not an issue since its always empty.
