Did you get my PM? Give me a call. That F1R is a big, badass blower.

Keep in mind you can also consider a meth injection kit, I prefer snow brand but there are many options.

FMIC are nice and very effective, Air to water are a little extreme for a street car in my opinion.

Main thing to remember is TUNE TUNE TUNE TUNE!!!!!!

a 331 with AFR heads and 10 pounds of boost is plenty enough to split that block in half, a detonating tune and its a sure fire recipe for disaster.

Also pay close attention to your valve train and make it rock solid at high RPM, with the boost rising with the RPM you will love to keep your foot in the throttle ;)

I'm under the impression that you will do some sort of racing, if so stay with the F1 and get the right pulley to keep the boost down until you get the dart block. I have seen a 331 with AFR 205 split a factory block so be very very careful. Stock blocks are not that strong. I'm building a 331 also but my limit is 500-550 hp. The block may hold or maybe not, we will see. Also make sure you get the right blower cam.

    Have you thought about turbocharging?

there's this guy in your neck of the woods that sells kits for classic cars, im sure he could build you one for your maverick(y)

not that bad of a price either.....

that shop is just 4 blocks from mine. ive seen his work. that car is really nice. im the one who has talked mo out of a turbo. i do not like turbo lag. i know mo he wants a great street car that can be taken to the track. a turbo does not have a liniar power curve and that can be no fun on the street. sure turbos make more power than a blower and if it was just going to be a race car then by all means go turbo. Mo's car is not going to be a race car (yet) and is his daily driver. he will enjoy his alot more with a supercharger than a turbo.

I see all your points (y)

    as for turbo lag......:D

but of course this wouldn't work on a street car.

yea like Bryant said, I'd like to stick with the supercharger. It's gonna be a daily driver and having the power for racing here and there will be great. Don't know how much more serious I'll get about racing, maybe I'll get the Erick bug and go all out one day.

Thanks for the websites (racingjunk). Also been looking on cragslist and ebay. There are a few units. I figure I might have to have them rebuilt but on Erick's advice, for now I just need the head unit, the tensioner, pulleys and the mounting bracket for a 5.0.

Also check Corral.net and nmradigital.com forums. I sent you an email, after you get it give me a call. The Maverick engine compartment is narrow and short.

thanks Erick for chatting with me, got some good info. Basically, Erick was saying that with the 5.0 systems that have the AC bracketry I don't have enough space for things to fit, the bracket will be hitting the side wall.
So I was looking at some of the vortech systems. They seem to have a better fit. They sit on the passenger side instead and that allows the AC to stay on the driver side and the alternator goes either on top or on the bottom of the SC.

I was able to find a pic online of this setup in a foxbody, it does kinda look like it might push it too far to the driver's side. but I'm wondering if that bracket is adjustable at all or maybe we'd be able to modify it.
