here is my custom t-5 crossmember. bolts to the the rear of the original frame brace with a 4 1/2 bolt. factory holes are barrelled so it is very solid.
Its more ptettier then mine thats for sure. I did the same and bolted mine to the back of the frame brace.
Yeah, you need to come over to Jasper, every first Sat starting in April. Good cruise in, usually have 75-100 cars. In front of the JC Penny's on old 78. We usually only miss one of them, the weekend of the Blue Suede Cruise over in Tupelo. We might get to come over your way on one of the other Sat's if there is something going on. Be good to see ya again!
Do you have a picture of it in the car? I'm doing a t5 in my car and I didn't realize I need to make a x-member. Great, another project! Are there any aftermarket x-members for our cars for a t5?
Wow, nice Derek! Did you build it or buy it? Can an adapter be made to bolt onto the stock crossmember without modifying the original?
Well, since we're sharing, here's the one I rigged up in about an hour when I put the SROD 4 speed in my car late last year.. I believe it will work with a T5 as well, will find out sooner or later. Works well, got about 8,000 miles on it now.
I didn't have a crossmember at all for my car when i got it so i scratch built this one.We modified a stock V8 one for a friends car by welding a plate to it along the lines of what Jamie has done (Though his looks to be beefier)
i think jamies wont clear the trans. there is a bulge that will hit the front edge of that crossmember.
Yes the t5 has a large bulge before the mount. The one jamie built would not work without further mods.
