So Guys, I have a question for you. We are not going to use the 302 setup in this car. WOuld it be useful to post it for sale on the boards? Actually most of the original interior parts will also be going. This stuff is in near perfect condition. we just are not sue if it's worth while. Let us know. Thanks again Jamie
Always worth the while, to keep the parts in circulation and to help out other owners. Welcome to the site, from W. Georgia, and it sounds like you are going to have a great car when you are done. Lots of pics....!
Hello I was just looking at your car, nice ride. I was wondering where you got the rear tail light conversion? I kinda like it. Jamie
Thanks Jamie. The tail light panel itself is a repro panel made by Dynacorn, sold by some of the Mustang vendors. It's for a 68 Shelby. Took a little work to get it in but worth it to me. The tail light are Shelby/Tbird lights. I actually changed my lights out to an led kit that is now available. Lot less room in the trunk and much brighter than the original lights. If you decide to do something like this let me know. I have lots of pics. Have a good day!
from SoCal. post your parts in the for sale section... http://www.maverick.to/mmb/forumdisplay.php?f=13
to the board, from sunny FL. Moved here from IL in 1976. Lived in the NW 'burbs .... Itasca, Addison. There is a sub-forum for project threads in the General section. If you have near-perfect original stuff, you will have folks attention here. Not a lot of stuff is repopped for these cars, so we have to scrounge. Interested in seeing your take on suspension goodies. If going with a 351-based motor, getting the shock towers out of the way helps a ton. Headers want to be right where the upper A-arms already are.
thanks jeff yeah there is not much in the aftermarket for these. Our plan it to fab a full chassis with a street cage and A-arms up front with 3 or 4 link in the rear. Its all we can really do to get the maverick to corner like a real G machine. Not sure what the guys at the shop have planned, we gave them some freedom to make it happen the best way the knew how. Guess we will see what they come up with.
Your plan is very similar to what I did with my own Maverick - the big difference was I kept most of my stock sub frames and worked them into, what I would now consider a full frame car
