As far as I know, a double sump pan will hit the V8 crossmember and the center link.

A double sump will not work it hits the center link. You will need a front sump pan from a mav/comet or a mustang II, there may be other models that fit but a front sump from a truck wont fit, it hits the belly bar.

AFAIK all the older 289/302 front sump pans for, Mav, Torino, Stang, Galaxie, etc are more or less the same, should be easy to find one... Don't forget you'll need a pickup and dipstick as well, those used with rear sump pan won't fit...
