I see why mine is all screwed up now....I have power brakes (bought the car with front power disc)

So they just had the cable punching through the firewall and I did the same thing which is clearly not right...hmmm...

So you're saying if you use a part that the Detroit engineers designed for this particular application in the said vehicle in question then it will work without having any issues?

I don't think I can put it back to stock due to the power brakes.....

Cars with power brakes had them, we just need to find you a good picture.

You have a 1970. Originally your throttle cable came out of the square hole above the valve cover in this picture.

1970 never had a V-8 from the factory, so you will never find a 1970 Maverick V-8 cable. I think you need to come out of this square hole to solve your issues.

Okay, I am going to punch the cable through there, somehow I need the downward angle bracket that some factory cables have. This would probably help a ton.

Plus....it looks like your fancy gas pedal is mounted way too low.

I agree, why is the pedal mounted so low? For what it is worth, I bought a Mustang direct mount pedal set up from Lokar. It bolts right into the exact location as the Maverick. Fits perfect.

Okay that pedal may be what I will look into.

It is mounted to fit where the cable that came with the car was routed into. Which is now found to be clearly wrong. So I will adjust the pedal, and cable see if I can get it working better! Started to replace my leaf springs, but my shackles and bushings are fubard so need new ones of those...never ends.

Do you have a higher resolution photo? I couldn't quite zoom in enough...Could be. Car had a 302 in it when I bought it, I changed everything so far except the carb, wheels, and steering wheel. Oh and the brakes, left the power front disc alone.
