Just wanted to say hello and hope to swap some stories about some early Mavericks my son hopes to acquire. He found 10, yes 10 oldies, he thinks they all look complete. An old homestead ranch in the mountains.. he needs to talk to the owner and see if he can rescue any of them. Any special model should he look for if they give him the chance?? Thanks everyone, Al Lucky 14 year old
from Northeast Pennsylvania There are more desirable Mavericks such as any Grabber edition especially the early ones (71-72) with the special Grabber hood and rear trunk spoiler, Stallion version or Sprint version. 1970 to 1972 are the small bumper models but the later big bumper ones can be converted to small bumpers with the early parts. I would grab the ones in the best condition plus any of the above special versions if available
Thank guys, i will past this info on to my boy. I will keep you updated and post some pics when he gets them. then maybe he will see that there is people on these forums that can help and share their knowledge with him, all he has to do is ask. Now he came home on the school bus yesterday and said he saw an old Mustang in the yard of a ranch on the way home, he will check into that too. over an hour bus ride to school is like a sight seeing trip for him. It could be worst i guess. Now if i can convince him that a complete restore takes longer than a 30 minute show, he'll do fine.
from Atlantic Canada! I can't wait to see pictures of this place your son found. As mentioned earlier, look for Grabbers, Sprints, Stallions and even Comet GT's for the more 'desirable' sub-models.
You could begin by going to the "New Members" forum and clicking on the button, not far down from the top on the left side that says "New Thread" and tell us a little bit about yourself. That button also appears in any of the sub folders of the forum.
