These are the applications that had 9" rears that are direct bolt in's. 57-59 Ford, 65-66 Stang w/289 Hi-po, 67-70 Stang & Fairlane w/390 or 428, and mid 70's to 1980 Lincoln Versailles/Granada/Monarch (later two had this as an option)

I have a 70 Mustang 9" in mine. Just needed to get correctly backspaced wheels.

There ya go. :thumbs2: The 9" I just put under mine was 1" wider than the 8" it came with. Nothing at all to fit 15 x 10's with a 5" backspace.;)

I think the 70 Stangs with the 351's also came with 9's.

Mines from a granada, I believe it is just a hair wider than the original. I would like to know how many inches exactly each rear is. I think the old 57-59 ford rears are the shortest. course they are probably just a bit harder to find than a granada 9". Granadas are also a perfect candidate for front disc brake donation,

How stong is an 8" compared to the 9" is it that mutch weaker, or is every one just trying to find a 9 because its a heavier axel?

I have one in the attic from an old (70s?) Bronco that is one inch wider each side. Guy that gave it to me described it as "one of those square broncos"...

If I ever get some of the other unfinished projects finished, I will pull it down and start to build it up.

the only thing you really have to do with the bronco 9" is get new axel shafts and move the spring perches to use it in a Mav. which is on to bad if you already have the axel. if its an early bronco it should be 58" wide.
