I have a 71 Maverick whose brake lights have quit working. There's power from the switch on the brake pedal, ground is good, bulb is new. Turn signals, reverse and park lights all work. Any suggestions

Short the 2 wires together on the brake light switch. If the lights come on, the brake light switch is bad.

Try taking a small jumper wire and jump the 2 wires together in the plug from the brake light switch. If your brake lights come on, replace the switch. This is the most common problem when this happens. If that does not fix it let us know and we will help you figure out where to go next. :)

ok, fuse is fine, and when we jumped the brake light switch they still didn't work. Might be off topic but I just had the turn signal switch in the column replaced

Power goes through the brake light switch and on to the turn signal switch. If the jumping the wires to the brake light switch did not turn them on, the problem is in the turn signal switch. The path is the same coming out of the turn signal switch, to the rear lights, for brakes and turn signals.
