its time to rebuild my c4 it shifts ok for being 70k original miles but needs to be freshened up, and it leaks a ton. i bought the bad shoe production dvd on rebuilding the c4 and looks pretty easy and ready to take it on just wanted some help on choosing a rebuild kit theres tons out there but looking for a good freshen up kit with all the clutches and all the seals and a shift kit too to improve the shifts while making it so i can hold any gear. i have a tci 2600 stall converter if that helps any. thanks

Performance Automatics, has everything you need, and it's not cheap offshore parts.

I didn't need any special tools for the ones I rebuilt back in the early '80s...

I rebuilt a couple and I don't think I had to get any special tools. C4's are a pretty easy trans to work on. I didn't have any DVD to work with back then but I did recently buy a badshoe video for T5's and it was excellent. I built two of them and I would recommend that video. So if the C4 video is as good as the T5 video then you'll be fine.

thats good to know everyones said the c4 is the easiest trans to rebuild and great one to start with. im doing all the research i can and hopefully start it next month.

now has anyone ordered either the max performance overhaul or the pro max performance overhaul kits? whats the major difference in the kits and looking for a street strip build
