I have a 1977 Ford Maverick. I have a leak, mainly on the driver side. I'm fairly confident that the Cowl is leaking. Though i don't want to cut the slits on my body to get to the cowl to the leaking rim, disassembling the interior wouldn't be as bad, but I was wondering if I could get some advice as what would be the best way to approach this matter. Is it worth trying to do it myself, or would it be better to have it done professionaly, I am kind of in a hurry though, I don't want my floor boards to start rusting through, now they are decent. but i want to eliminate this problem before it becomes more a problem as far as having to replace more then what i already have to. Thanks
THere is only one way to fix them and it is not easy or cheap if you have to pay someone to do it. There is an article on the main websight about this. http://www.maverick.to/cowl_faq.php
He's asking if your car has Air Conditioning-A/C. The cowls are designed differently for Air Conditioned cars than non-Air Conditioned cars. Seth
