    302-2V firing order

I found a 6 volume Ford car shop manual for 1973 in a local used bookstore for $17.50 and of course promptly brought it home.

It tells me the firing order on your 302-2V is 15426378.

I finally got to help someone else out on this board  . It's about time!!!

Be sure you didn't accidently put a chevy motor in there...if so, you will get interesting results with that firing order :D

That's IF you push it out of the garage out of anger from not getting it to run on it's own power.

Finally get to use this info I asked for a few months ago [IMG] .

I have made the wire holders (although not coated yet), and researched the longest to the shortest in length (thanks again Dan), now I have the fireing order. [IMG] . More to come, cause more to do.

Blugene - Make sure your engine is the older 302. I'm pretty sure FORD changed the firing order in 80 something to match the 351 firing order which putss less stress on the front and backmain journals. If your's is a newer powerplant someone that is an "expert" will hopefully come on here and verify my statement.

Not sure of the project you did on engine. If you put new cam in, check your cam card for firing order!

I had a older cam in my 351, ordered a new cam and never changed wires on the cap. Car wouldn't start other than little burps. Scratched head a couple minutes, looked at cam card and saw new firing order! Just glad I had a roller cam, hard on them lifters otherwise.

If no cam card and engine already buttoned up, pull valve covers and watch the order of the intake rockers to find your firing order. Good Luck
