I am a 23 year old machinist and Love my 1970 Maverick! I bought it back in high school and just finished the body in may of 07. My Grandpa and i built the first motor a 289 k code, but choose to build another motor by myself.(also so i won't hurt the k code motor) so i built a 308 with scat crank, eagle rods, kb pistons, x303 cam ,gt40 cast heads milled 58cc o-rings, 1.6 rr, air gap intake, 575 demon carb.,right now i have a worn out c4 that i think is one my problem. I also installed a 9in with 4.56 and a spool with a 3500 stall. best time was a 8.26 @82mph. I am going to rebuild the trans with a pa transrake, 2qt extra trans pan, shift servo, hughs rebuild kit that i just bought. i hope that helps! I also thought about changing my intake to a victor jr. and maybe a bigger carb.? I am also taking my heads and intake to work and cnc port them to a gasket match. untill i buy a set of afr heads. so far that is it and hope to get pictures up soon. would like to hear your thoughts on what my plans are.
