I was just wondering. What is the original horsepower and torque values of the 170,200,250, and 302 engines? I've heard that the 200 puts out about 80hp, but I find that hard to believe. My maverick has much more power than say......a mitsubishi mirage, which has around 92 hp. It's also much heavier, hehe. Just wondering guys.
The 200 in my '71 puts out about 120hp and 190lbs.-ft of torque stock. (I looked it up). I think horsepower dropped considerably though during the course of the seventies on all the engines you mentioned so Im not sure about your '76.
Not only did horsepower drop froam strangling emmisions equipment, but the way of measuring it went from SAE gross to SAE net. That 210hp in 1971 became 140 in 1972 with very few changes to the motor.
