I dont think anyone makes a complete exhuast package for our cars. Thats about right for a good paint job. Alot of guys on here have been quoted more than 5k. Remember you get what you pay for, and with something thats as visible as your paint you want it right! I custom paint Street Bikes and I start at $1000 and go from there, and thats just for the labor.

As far as I know, there is no replacement exhaust for the Mavericks/Comets.

fan2488 is in the process of modifying a kit for a '66 Mustang to fit his headered Maverick but has not yet installed it to determine if it is feasible.

The price for the paint job sounds high to me - unless your car is near-totaled and/or you want an absolute PERFECT paint job. A lot depends on what the painter has to start with and how you want it to look afterwards.

There are no exhaust kits available for our cars. Any exhaust shop can make you a set of duals.

unless you are looking for something custom or are including bodywork in the estimate i would say it is high. i'd check around with some car guys or ask at one of the race tracks and see where others are getting there's done. i've got a guy out here that races with me. he does jobs on the side. he originally did mine with body work and welding up the trim holes for $600. it wasn't perfect but i've had a lot of compliments at the track. i just had him redo it so i wouldn't be too embarassed at the roundup. i took most of the chrome off and he painted it for $400 (paint included). he works for a place that installs safety equipment on schoolbuses and does bodywork on them. they don't have a problem with him using their booth for his side jobs. they might question it if he started painting them schoolbus yellow. also some of the car dealers here, some of there bodyshop people do side jobs at home. ask around. i'm sure it can be done for a lot less that $4600.:)
