August 26-28 the Northwoods Shelby Club is having it's 30th annual Midwest Invitational event at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. A three day weekend consisting of two days of high-speed touring(Friday and Sunday) the touring is non competitive, drive as hard as you wish and passengers are allowed. Saturday is the autocross day, timed laps, no passengers. Ford and Ford powered cars, all kinds, Panteras, Tigers, Merkur, Cobras, early Mustangs(Shelby, Boss, Mach1, etc),late model and fox bodied Mustangs, SVT Contours, Lightnings, etc. etc. etc. All cars are grouped according to modifications, and driver experience/ability. This will be my sixth year, third with the Maverick.

Any one interested can check out the website nwshelbyclub.com to get the registration info, there are also a few hotels within a couple miles of the track.

It is a great event and a chance to get up close to some fantastic cars. Road America is a great place in itself. I was a volunteer track worker (firefighter) in the early 80's there. Last time I was over there for this event was the year that Carrol Shelby was there signing parts. I want to say about 6 years ago. I'll see what I can do to get over there this year. What days do you attend?

    Wow.

That sounds like one hoot of a weekend. I'm jealous. Anyone know of an event like that west of the rockies? I love road courses.

Just normal safety stuff, the whole list is on the website, on the home page of nwshelbyclub.com, scroll down to "download current Frostbits...." and on page 9 of the Frostbits paper is the list of the things that we double check, it's "the owners responsibility" to have everything up to par. If you have time check through the whole Frostbits paper, you might get more info out of it.
