I am a some what new member. I had some questions on my radiatior and you guys were very helpful. I got something else now. Right now I have the original tires and wheels on my 1970 Maverick, I am looking at this set of wheels that are 15x7 and I would like to know will these fit my car? They are five lug which is good but I wanted wider wheels to grab the road better, will these work?
it all depends on the backspacing. yeah 15x7s will fit no problem but you need the right backspacing. depending on the wheels you might need to run wheel spacers to make them fit. could you post what wheels they are? it'd give us more to work with so we can help you out
oh i have those same whees but 14s. good look on a Maverick.... but i do still need backspacing on them. if it is these then there at a +0 offset meaning about a 3.5 inch backspace. and from what i am finding thats the only offset they make. 3.5 inch backspacing should be adequate on a stock maverick. they should fit no problem. http://www.ebay.com/itm/15x7-Polish...x114-3-0-/121426932254?_trksid=p2054897.l5660
That's a nice little stash!! I LOVE these wheels. I also have a set I just got back from polishing. I don't have my 5-lug running gear on the car yet, so I can't help you with measurements. Those Ford wheels were 14-inch ONLY. Lots of close aftermarket rims, but they won't have the holes for the center caps OR the relief cut for the black stripe. Those NOS center caps look some nice!!
Thank you, I had to do some searching for them but it payed off. Do you know what all I'll need to convert my car from 4 lug to 5 lug, can you or any of your guys help me out with this? Thanks!
Hmm... Mines a 74 so i had 5 lugs... Hopefully someone who did it will chime in. Also i suggest making a new thread for it. More likely to get a good response
You will have to find a 5 lug rearend from a Maverick/Comet. I'd suggest manual disc brakes from a Maverick/Comet also. Then you'll be 5 lug ready for the mag wheels. That's what I've done to my 70 Grabber...
Salvage yard for best price. Not the easiest car to find though in a yard, at least not here in california
