Hi I was wondering if you guys could give me some help. I lined up my crossmember where the instructions say but I'm a quarter inch off to being square with my rear end. Should I split the difference? line it up where instructions say? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a different MII set up than an R & C but when I went to square up my cross member, I was also 1/4 off from my pre-scribed frame reference points - I just think it had to do with 1969 quality control at Ford - I split the difference

I wouldn't trust the rear-end as a valid measuring point, use one of the frame reference points. You can find the frame diagram on here...

Thanks guys. I talked to a few more people and they said the same. And to never try square with a leaf rear end. Big help. Now if I could just find a rear suspension kit

I always felt that it is not a good idea to square anything from any movable suspension points - It would be much better to go off a, common to both frame rails, stationary frame point but, then again, that is where the Ford quality control wound up 1/4 inch off on mine so----
