I'm making a set of custom Cal-Tracs traction bars for my senior project in college and I was curious if anyone else wanted a set. This is an important project so there will be a lot of high-grade engineering and fabrication going on here, not just simple guess and weld type stuff. The quality will be high and they will be built for high horsepower applications. I will have access to CNC machines and just about anything I want for this project. If you buy a set of these from the original manufacturers, they run about $320 + shipping. Mine would likely have to be cheaper than that to attract potential buyers. I'll get back to you with a price on these in a few weeks after I get the engineering done and figure out material prices as well as how much labor I will have to put in for each set. If anyone would be willing to buy a set of these right now, let me know so I can get a general idea on the level of interest.
Yes, and Yes. If this turns out to be feasible, pricing will most likely be a little below the official versions. If it's more than that, I probably won't make any extra sets because I doubt anyone would want them at that price.
Boy, maybe I need to throw Dan Starnes' name in here to hook people on these . Once you guys see the prototype, I'll be overrun with requests .
Price pending yes. You should take a note from Ward on this one. He had 10 sets of custom billet door sill plates made and never made a cent(well maybe a couple) Now that is what being and owning a maverick is all about. Did my guilt trip work????
