They could paint my brothers mav in a timely fashion. I doubt it will be painted this year cuz he wants to go to the 2005 round up. Gonna go Black with competition orange highlights. Kinda like the harley davidson f150. However nobody will promise a completion date by mid april. I need at least 6 weeks to assemble it back together to be safe. So the 05 round up will see both cars as is but 2006 will see both cars with a new look. I have decided to paint my car Azure Blue with black highlights, mach 1 flip gas cap, have the rack and pinion in, Tubular A arms and different wheel and tire combo........I think I will go with the Crager but the new ss style in 17s. I am not a fan 20s:coco: My brothers car may get a set of Boyd Coddingtons Hotrod rims. Oh by the way May just come fast enough for me:yup:

I know exactly where your coming from, I want to get mine painted in time for the FFW in April, my body guy said bring it in 2 weeks and he would have it ready in 3,:bs: I'll give him 6 weeks then be on his arse if it ain't ready. He knows how I feel about my Mav so I THINK he's shootin me straight.

    rick,

    good luck!!!
i have never had a painter do anything in the time frame he said :slap: .
i would suggest to hold all monies untill "done". they do a lot of bring it back when you get it put together and we will "buff" out all the ...trash...:bs:
as someone said before...look at other paint jobs they did and talk to the people that have them...
i would rather hear "that will be extra" than their bid be $500 cheaper than all the rest.
sorry to sound "bitter" but i still have a bad taste in my mouth from the "71 mav. i had... ...frank...

we paint ourselves, takes a little time, but you really don't need any special tools. My stepfather painted his dumptruck last week, came out real nice, I plan on oing all the paint on my car myself as well, only way to learn is to mess it up a little :D

You've all seen the pics of Pegasus. Her paint is close to show as-is but I'm stripping her down for a full-body powder-coat. Can't have Bondo or lead seams (which would melt @ 400 degrees). Nope, she has to be dead-on Mav to get THAT done. Of course, the 6-71 sticking through the hood means little against the coat ;)

TO be honest I am great with metal. I suck at finish work and have never tried painting. I think I could shoot the paint just fine with some supervision but the finish work in the body is for true artist IMO. But John thanks for having faith in my abilities,
