hello, have a 63 comet custom convertible.I have owned it for 15 years . I t is being converted from a 6 cylinder ,2 speed auto to a 302 with 3 speed floor shift. Have had a few problems with this swap but mostly ironed out now. Hope to have car drivable in a week or two.Almost all the cars in this forum seem to be mavericks. Is it a problem to have a comet here? Most of my doner parts have came from a 67 fairlane and some nos.parts.What will swap from a mav.if any thing? Thanks

They are mostly Mavericks because this is a 1970-1979 Ford Maverick and like bodied 1971-1977 Mercury Comet Message Board.

You are welcome to stay. :)

Seems to be a lot of the 1960's Comet folks showing up here this week.

You guys should come to Ford Carlisle in PA. There is a club there for the early 60's Comets. A bunch of nice people with some really nice Comets. I used to have some contact information but I cant find it any more. Check it out at www.carsatcarlisle.com

Hello, Bruce the guy with the 63comet. Car is on the road and is strong. Thanks to the few who responded for parts .I need bumpers ,front and rear. Mine are in good shape,no dents or rust through, but lots of surface rust. Not sure if falcon ones will work.Lots of stuff for them.Any one have any ideas?

with no dents or rust probably the easiest thing to do is get them rechromed. might be the cheapest too as these parts are getting harder and harder to find.:)

I would advise getting your bumpers rechromed. I love the old comets, I had a 66 cyclone gt a million years ago and wish I had never parted with it.

Welcome to the Board. Nice people here, you'll like it. I'm in Huntersville. NC just north of Charlotte. I have several manifolds around here, do you have a picture of what the one you need looks like.
