Need a quick fix guys...has anyone bypassed the neutral safety switch on the column? I have a neutral safety switch on the shifter already, and I think a wire has gotten broken on the factory switch. Can i cut the factory switch out, and splice the wires back together without the switch and do so without issues? I think I have some weatherpacks that I can use to make the splice. I'm just not sure what all, if anything else, goes through that switch.

Thanks for any help! Trying to get the car running for a race this weekend, and have to get it aligned before then!

    yep...
I had problems with two aftermarket neutral safety switches ( on the shifter) so on the third replacement I ran it through a relay.
    ...batt...ing switch...NSS...relay...starter sol.

I left my NSS in place and soldered a jumper wire between it and the NSS on my floor shifter. It has been in this configuration for over 20 years.

Looking at a wiring diagram...and it looks like the red-lt blue wire is the one I need to be concerned with jumping around the switch.

Can anyone confirm this? Just trying to get an idea before I leave the office and get home this evening lol.

And can I also assume that the black-pink wire is for the backup lights? I don't really need those right now, but am trying to make some notes for when I put a new wiring harness in at some point. This is pretty much a track only car at the moment...but will eventually see some time on the street in the future.

Thanks for the help so far guys!

As per wiring diagram run a jumper to both red-ltblue wires you will jump nss . The black-pink is for backup light and you said not needed.

Thanks guys. I left the office, pulled the NSS and cut and spliced the 2 re-ltblue wires together. It cranked fine! It is now at the alignment shop getting straightened out, and will be waiting on me when I wrap up at the office today. I ay get to run it for the first time this year yet.

The NSS switch is not disabled on my car...I have one on the aftermarket floor shifter. My issue was with the factory column mounted one that was just left in place. Apparently, when I had the column out doing the modifications to it for the RC107 install, the factory switch was damaged, or a wire contact broken. I just needed to bypass that factory switch for the car to crank. Floor shifter was in park, but key still wouldn't do anything.

Wire has been clipped, terminals added to each end, and plugged back into itself to complete the circuit now, and it's good to go. :)

Aftermarket shifter NSS is working correctly as well.
