Just about all Ford sending units will fit. The design hasn't changed that much. Question is...will it read accurate or what is required to make it accurate. Here is a pic of a 1960 Falcon sending unit. It gets its ground by the tank being bolted to the trunk floor.
I bought my tank from Rock Auto Parts $ hundred dollars and some change when Auto Krafters wanted $259.00 plus shipping but I checked last night and Rock Auto Parts don't have anymore
well sense I have a good tank, I decided to cut a drop in the top and I am going to install an aeromotive phantom 200 fuel pump kit. I cut a section out today, touch and go there, had some smoking in the tank, just kept splashing around water in the tank to make sure I dont' go boom. now I have a nice section out. so I can box, and drop the top 1.5 inches, so I have enough clearance in the top for the pump. picked up the steel today, and going to weld it up tomorrow. I already have a good new fuel sender. and my tank is like flawless and original. well not now with the big hole in it. I am also going to delete the vent on the top as well sense im already doing a bunch of welding. will post a few pics later.
please do post pictures, as i'm considering the aeromotive pump for an efi swap as well. currently i'm planning to use the f30 tank with the aeromotive pump and a quickfuel qfi kit...
here is my recess I welded in today. 1.5 inch drop. that gives me 6.5 inches clearance to the bottom of the tank. the width is 7x12 recess.. welded up, tested for leaks, and then epoxied the top, and then put some undercoat on the tank. I had the tank red coated last year. so I picked up another container and I will red coat the inside top again tomorrow.. I picked up the redcoat from an orally automotive. its not the prettiest but I really don't care. it doesn't leak.
