    You have to drain the Oil anyway .. why not get a camera probe and look things over by inserting the probe through
    the oil plug opening .. Might show you something that would aid your decision on whether or not to proceed with any
    plan you may have. They have great units with a Light and Camera that can RECORD what you see and you can plug in into a computer and look it over at your leisure. Just a thought.

    I'm still trying to work out a day with my buddy. he has a lift.

    I had a sound like that once, and it turned out to be the harmonic dampener rubbing, as it was rotating. Might even be the timing pointer touching.....

    We finished this up late last night. It was in fact the oil pan. We had a few extra reasons to dig into the bottom end when we got into it though. New pump and all new main and rod bearings! Once we got that done, my charging problem came back to bite me in the ass...
