I recently have done a lot of work to my drive train. I had a friend who owns a speed shop rebuild my 302(big cam, bored the heads out,new carb and i put a 411 gear in it)the tranny was recently rebuilt with a nice shift kit. What a difference. W/O putt'n it on a dyno my guy is estimating around 375 hp. I guess next move is Mustang 11 front suspension and dis brake conversion.Granted when I had the motor out getting rebuilt would have been an ideal time to do all this however as we all know with projects like this $'s come when they come. Can someone send me towards the right guy on our forum to inquire about parts needed to do the suspension and disc brake conversion that I'm thinking of.

375 hp is a pretty overly- optimistic number for a 302 with that setup. :16suspect:

Larry I've known Marty for quite sometime now and like I said aside from dyno he's guessing 375,may or may not be but hes been doing this along time.I was in band during high school and college so I dont know from nothin engine wise. http://wolfengines.com/ Thanx for your input Larry.

Based on what details? He gave a very vague description of what was done so it's awfully hard to judge.

Reckon I'll have to put it on a dyno some day to find out.The one thing I do know is that I have driven some fast cars before and my car is now very fast.Thats all that matters to me. I hope that someone is able to set me on the right track as far as my suspension.

Based on "big cam, bored the heads out, new carb, and I put a 411 gear in it" (which has nothing to do with the engine).
Obviously not aftermarket heads. Rear-wheel hp would be a far cry from 375. Even the 290-rated 302 Boss was producing only 340 hp (the real number, not the one advertised for the insurance companies) . Not trying to hijack this thread though, he was asking about brakes & suspension.

You must be some kind of psychic, he did acknowledge he is not savvy to car stuff which (no offense Bob) was evident by the bored head comment. Nothing in his post is obvious in regards to heads or the entire build. If you didn't want to hijack the thread maybe you should have kept the snide comment to yourself.

My comment was not "snide", although yours is. I based my comment on the information (albeit sparse) that he gave.
It was his idea to include the subject of his engine in this suspension thread, I see that you have no problem hijacking this thread by trying to call me out on my comments. How about you keep your snide comments to yourself? Tough guy.

I also feel he opened the thread to... engine, suspension and disc brake conversion.
I think Larry was just helping Bob understand that if he paid for a 375 HP build, he didn't get it and I agree.
as far as suspension... "I guess next move is Mustang 11 front suspension and dis brake conversion."

Rick no offense taken. I guess when gentleman like Larry were out wrenching on cars I was wrenching on my trombone. Larry just so you can sleep at night I'll get the list of things that were done to my motor. Also, captain obvious,I know a 411 posi has nothing to do with the motor. Have a nice weekend.

I apologize for the derailment, good luck with the project Bob, look forward to seeing what all you have into that hotrod! BTW, 4.11 is my all time favorite gear ratio, I have a set for my car as well.

I have no trouble sleeping at night, and if it"s so "obvious", then why did you include your gear ratio in your engine mods? I meant no offense by my comments.
