    Hey guys,
I'm looking at buying an engine block from a guy and wanted to know the cheapest way to ship it. Any ideas???

Any horror stories with shipping one?

    Thanks!

There is no cheap way.You can call around to different trucking companies a have them quote you a price, but be prepared for the answer they will give you.I crated up a block last year and sent to my son in southern California.Cost me 630.00 from Cincinnati,Ohio to San Diego. He picked it up at the terminal. The best price I got was from Roadway. After I sent it,I was checking around and could have bought a rebuilt short block and had it shipped to him for darn near the same amount.I'll never do it again.

Cost me $165 to ship a 250 longblock from Florida to Georgia ... about 500 miles ...
