I just got a copy of August 1970 Road & Track doing a full test report on the 1970 Maverick Grabber:

According to them the $194 Grabber package got you:

    200CU engine
    Bodyside Stripes
    Hood and Cowl Stripes
    DeckLid Spoiler
    Woodgrain RimBlow Steering Wheel
    Dual Racing Mirrors
    5 Special Grabber colors

For an extra $99 you could add the Grabber Dressup package:

    Color Keyed Carpets
    All Vinyl black seat trim
    Black Grill and back panel
    Wheel Trim Rings
    Bright Drip Mouldings
    Bright Window Frames
    Deluxe Gas Cap

Here is a picture of the steering wheel on their test car ...

That's just like the rim-blow wheel that came on the Mustang. I can't tell about the emblem in the center. The Mustang steering wheels are VERY expensive. I sold a used one on eBay that needed restoring for over $100. If they did put it on a Maverick I have never seen one but it wouldn't surprise me. I'm sure a nice one would bring big bucks though.

The center of the steering wheel is the Ford Crest ...

The rim-blow also came on Mavericks (saw it back in early 70's muhsef - on a new Maverick).

I have one almost exactly like that one in my 70 Grabber.

Saw one on a junk Grabber-1970. Craig has details on them.

Well, just for you I went out and took some. It isn't near as pretty as the one on ebay but it is the one that came with the car. I have all the woodgrain inserts ( they fell out over the years) And yes, I put the shag carpeting on the dash back in the 70s. I include a picture of my 1975's steering wheel. My 1970 Grabber parts car, it had the standard Ford wheel in it so I guess not all Grabbers came with that wheel. Just for fun I included a picture of my 50 Ford's wheel and my 69 F100's wheel. the 69 is from some Ford but I am not sure what one, it was on there when I bought it.

Maybe I should have taken a picture of my 69 Lincoln Contenental wheel, even though I drove it today I can't remember what it looks like, must be old age setting in. My 55 Ford has an interesting steering wheel, more interesting than my 56, but the 55 is sitting in a shed over at my Mom's and the 56 is over there also.

If I remember right there is another of those rim-blow wheels in a 70 LTD sitting at my Mom's

I think the rim-blow wheels look great but unless you have power steering you'd be blowing the horn just about every time you turn the wheel. The one's I've used in the past were pretty sensitive. I'd rather use the deluxe 2-spoke wheel or a nice Grant...anything but a rim-blow. JMO

Yes...that is the rimblow wheel that came on a 1970 Grabber. It was only available the first month or so. After that...it wasn't included and the price for the "Grabber pkg" went down.
