    1972 Ford Maverick, 302 w/ B&M tranny, everything else is stock
    what is the stock ring and pinion, on a 1972 Ford Maverick, 302, C4, 8" rear end? i need help...please and thanks

    Probably a 2.79:1 ratio - look at your door tag and look for a 3 by the axle codes. If it is a 6 it is 3.00:1

    But to be on the safe side, as it may have been swapped out at some point in the cars life, look for a tag on one of the bolts that holds the center chunk in.
